GUEST BLOG: JENNY WISE - HOW TO DESIGN FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM
These days there are so many influences that affect the way we design our homes. Magazines, the latest Pinterest trends, Instagram, just a few of the many resources available to homeowners that can sometimes distract from the foundation of how we should design the space around us. At Katherine Bedson, we know that one of the key factors in interior design has to be lifestyle. Do you have young children and need a never-ending supply of storage? Do you have dogs and need f

TWD - ARTEM BABAYANTS ARCHITECTS
This Weeks Designer... We find inspiration all over the place, creative outlets such as Instagram, Pinterest and Houzz have opened new windows for the average homeowner allowing them to create homes that are distinctly more designed. While these outlets are useful, I'm still happy to spend an afternoon trawling through architect and designers websites looking for new and exciting ideas that are more up-to-date and perhaps that little bit more creative. Don't get me wrong, I

HELLO AGAIN!
So it's been quite a while since my last post and my what a lot has changed! On a very, very hot day in June last year our son Owen was born and since then he has (rightly so) taken up every waking minute of our lives to date! He is a very happy, smiley little boy with fair hair and blue eyes and we love him to pieces! Now that he is reaching 8 months old, we are starting to find our feet again, and whats more starting to open up the doors to our design studio again. This

COUNTRY SCENE
I always remember the summer that set off my career as an interior designer. I'd just finished college and begun working with a local interior design agency based in Grayshott in Surrey. The surrounding towns and villages boasted large country houses and quaint cottages, ensuing a summer spent choosing linens and herringbones, velvets and plaids. It's a look very much close to my heart as it reminds me of my roots, of countryside living and all that comes with it. An avid

NURSERY PROGRESS
Admittedly with the summer in full swing (for now) it has been a struggle to dedicate time to the nursery. However after a morning spent in the sunshine, I have now had to take my 31 week self indoors to the cool hardwood floors and squashy sofa. Opening up my laptop, I decided to re-visit the designs for the nursery. The last few items on the list are to have the cot sprayed to my exact colour specification and invite my artistic little (21 year old - finishing universit

LIGHT AND DARK
Before christmas, about 5 minutes after we had moved in, we redecorated our lounge. The terracotta red walls and dingy ceiling were replaced for Farrow and Ball shades of grey, including a dark chimney breast, stone coloured walls and satin grey architraves. We purchased a beautiful chesterfield in tan leather for one end of the room and a linen sofa with leather piping for the other side. Then I dressed the space with warm throws, cosy cushions and thick sumptuous curtain

PRETTY IN PINK
I don't know whether it's because pink is a colour we don't get to play with very often, or perhaps my baby brain is subconsciously telling me something, but I can't stop noticing pink at the moment. Not the bold and brash kind, not the shocking pinks that I usually love, but the soft dusky pinks. I thought I'd share a few of my favourites from the last couple of weeks #Pink #Styling #Velvet #Velvetsofa #RoseGold #InteriorDesign

IF YOU'RE GOING TO SAN FRANSISCO
Last year we wen't on a road trip around California, and the surrounding states for our Honeymoon and had some incredible experiences. We mixed the city life of San Fransisco and LA with incredible outdoor destinations such as Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. Every inch of it was so different from the English cities and countrysides and it got me thinking about the interiors of the buildings we passed and what they might be like. While in San Fransisco, we visited the famous
