BASIC GARDEN MAKEOVER

For a simple garden refresh, such as clearing overgrown areas, planting new flowers, and adding a small feature like a pathway or seating area, costs generally start around £1,500 - £3,500. This would typically cover tasks like:
•    Lawn re-turfing or artificial grass
•    New planting schemes
•    Adding basic garden features, like small paths or decorative elements
This option is perfect for smaller gardens or when you're looking to brighten up your space without a major overhaul.

MEDIUM SIZED PROJECTS

For a more substantial redesign—such as adding patios, decking, raised beds, or water features—you can expect to spend between £3,500 and £15,000. This mid-range project might include:
•    Installing new patios or decking (starting at £110 per square metre)
•    Raised planting beds or bespoke garden walls
•    Adding lighting, water features, or decorative elements

This budget is ideal for transforming a medium-sized garden with a balanced mix of hardscaping (such as patios and paths) and softscaping (like planting and greenery).

HIGH-END LANDSCAPING PROJECTS

If you’re looking for a luxury garden with bespoke design features, such as custom garden rooms, swimming pools, or intricate paving, the cost can range from £10,000 to £30,000+. These projects often involve:

  • Premium materials like natural stone, porcelain, or composite decking

  • Large or complex patios and bespoke garden structures

  • Advanced features such as outdoor kitchens, fire pits, or pools

These types of projects typically require a higher level of craftsmanship and design expertise to create a truly unique and functional outdoor space.

FACTORS AFFECTING COSTS OF LANDSCAPING

Several factors will influence the cost of landscaping your garden:
•    Size and layout of your garden: Larger gardens will naturally cost more due to the increased materials and labour required. However the cost per m2 is often reduced.
•    Material choices: High-end materials like natural stone, premium decking, or bespoke paving will raise the cost.
•    Site Accessibility: Good access to the property usually speeds up the project and helps to keep costs down. Off road parking, good side access and areas to store materials all make things smoother.
