COUNTRY SCENE

I always remember the summer that set off my career as an interior designer. I'd just finished college and begun working with a local interior design agency based in Grayshott in Surrey. The surrounding towns and villages boasted large country houses and quaint cottages, ensuing a summer spent choosing linens and herringbones, velvets and plaids. It's a look very much close to my heart as it reminds me of my roots, of countryside living and all that comes with it. An avid reader of Country Homes & Interiors, this months issue inspired me to have another look at this trend and see if my taste have changed over time.

Below are a selection of some of my favourite images so far, a range that shows a balance between traditional country finishes and my new found love for more contemporary designs. The style is very much linked to the CONTEMPORARY COUNTRY board on the OUR STYLE page of our website and is a great place to start if you are looking to inject this look into you home.
