KITCHEN UPDATE

Sometime I just can't help myself. I've been working in my kitchen a lot recently, the spring sunshine flooding in through the bi-fold doors and unfortunately a change in the weather usually means a change in the house (Much to my husband's delight!)

We are still working away on the nursery, but in the mean-time, there are few changes going on downstairs too. Our kitchen is pretty much a blank canvas at the moment and while I've added a few touches here and there, it's desperately asking to be 'designed'. With that in mind, I have created the above moodboard of ideas.

Firstly, we will be updating our white kitchen cabinets with a new lease of life. They are fairly new and still in good condition so we are having the lower cupboards sprayed in a midnight blue and applying new copper handles. A copper splash back behind the cooker will provide a real feature and keep our country kitchen contemporary. In theme with the copper, we will be changing the tap on the sink to match (I'm very excited about this!)

In the dining area, a built in bench will be updated with new seat pads and an array of cushions in bright pinks, aquas and blues, one of my favourite colour combinations, set against this fabulous marble wallpaper from Harlequin. These fun pink plates will also be great for entertaining. In the dining area, we will install shelves which allows me to add colour and accessories to this area of the room.

Finally, we will add voiles to the window to soften the space and allow the light to continue to flood through and copper lighting over the kitchen area, with matching pendants over the dining table.
